The Tower Bridge spans the River Thames in the center of London, England. Housed within the two towers are the pivots and machinery required to raise the center portion of the bridge to allow taller ships to pass. The bridge is raised over a thousand times per year. The upper walkways became an informal red-light district in the early 1900’s before being closed. The walkways have since been renovated and reopened as part of the Tower Bridge Exhibition.
